My favorite band: Imagine Dragons

I like the band Imagine Dragons because of many reasons. The first reason is the lyrics in their songs.  To somebody else it might seem strange or puzzling but I understand what there trying to say. You sort of have to break it apart to understand the meaning. But at the same time its catchy, well all their songs our catchy to me. They also don't use any fowl language in any of their songs. Which is another reason why I like their songs. Another important reason why I like the band is the different type of music they make. For example, some of their songs are slow but upbeat and some of their songs have a hard rock melody. Which is great because none of the songs sound the same, it's always different. I'm also waiting for their new album called 'Evolve' to come out. And so far, I like three songs in the album so far.

Life is Beautiful Reflection

The movie, Life Is Beautiful, is probably the most emotional and powerful movie I've ever seen. Even though it was a foreign movie, I absolutely loved the plot of the film. A Jewish man and his son get taken to a concentration camp during World War II. And the father doing everything he can to hide his son from the Nazi Officers. I'm really fascinated on how they reenacted what a real Nazi concentration camp was back then. Especially the way the Nazi soldiers tricked the Children and Elderly into the gas chambers made to look like Showers.

I'll have to say the ending was a tearjerker. Well, at least to me it was. But I'll have to say to this was a pretty good movie. I rarely don't watch foreign movies but this movie will probably be my favorite foreign movie. I really recommend watching this movie. You will not regret it.

The Soundtrack Of My Life

1) Lean On -  Bill Withers & Don't Stop Believing - Journey

These two songs are important in my life because I remember back in the fourth grade that I sung a mixed version of these two songs when I was in Chorus. And I remember a dear friend of mine, who I can't recall her name, joined along with me. We would always stand next to each other as we practiced singing this song for our performance. And I am certain she was the first friend I ever made during Elementary. I'm pretty sure she moved away when I started middle school. But, whenever I hear one of these two songs, I always think of her and how much fun we had during Chorus.

2) Gasolina- Daddy Yankee

Now I usually don't like Latin music but I always hear it on the radio, but this song brings back memories of when I was a much younger. The song is really catchy and I understand why my younger self liked it. Whenever my mother made me do chores around the house, I would always ask her to play this song while I did chores. So now when I listen to this song, it reminds me how energetic and naive I was when I was little.

3) Hope Of Morning- Icon For Hire

So I discovered this song about a year ago and because of this I started liking the band. But this song in particular stands out to because of how relatable the lyrics are. For example, there's a lyric that says, "The last mistake, the choice I made. Staring in the mirror with myself to blame." And that I find relatable because we all make mistakes and sometimes we blame ourselves for it, at least I do. The chorus of the song, "When the hope of Morning
starts to fade in me. I don't dare let darkness have its way with me. And the hope of morning makes me worth the fight. I will not be giving in tonight." What I think this means to me is that we must persevere and never give up. And of course the Hope Of Morning being some sort of motivation that starts to fade but it doesn't make you give up

4) Rock The Dragon- Dragon Ball

Now this song I don't usually hear on a daily bases but it tend to bring back happy memories for me. So, my dad really love watching this Japanese cartoon called Dragon Ball, and I remember he would play some episodes with me. And the beginning theme song was so catchy that my younger self would sing along to this. I mean I really love watching Dragon ball because of all the action that goes on in the show. And whenever I hear this opening, I think of my father and me watching episodes of this show together.

"Do one thing everyday that scares you!"- Elenor Roosevelt

I have a fear of heights, for as long as I could remember. And now that I think about it, it's a pretty stupid thing to be afraid of. But I can't help but be afraid of heights. Especially when I'm really high up on something and I just so happen to look down. But I feel like I want to experience something even greater than just standing on something really high. When I get older, I want to go skydiving in order to, probably, overcome my ridiculous fear of heights. I know it sounds a bit extreme to attempt skydiving but I think it would be much better than bungee jumping.

The Beginning Of The End

I really can't believe it's already May and I'll be graduating on June 1st. It's kinda hard to realize that I'll be going to High School soon. I feel like everything is going to fast. I even remember the first day of fifth grade, now I'll be starting High school in a couple of months. I'm a bit anxious starting High School, since it is a big school after all. I went to a opening night to the high school I'm going to, and I'll have to say it's huge inside. I feel like I might get myself lost on the first day. And it's almost a few weeks before I finished the 8th grade and start summer vacation. Half of me is excited for High School and the other half of me is a bit anxious going to a new school with new people from different schools. But I guess it'll be fun making new friends.

Lord Of The Flies Book Blog

The story starts with a plane crashing onto a deserted island, stranding a group of schoolboys differing from young and oldest. With no adult survivors, they must survive all on their own and they eventually select a chief to lead them. The main character, Ralph, is elected chief after blowing on a conch shell to assemble a meeting. He eventually sets rules in order for everyone to follow and he even comes up for a way to get rescued by making a fire in order to send a signal to any nearby ships. But eventually everything falls apart as a mysterious beast roams in the island, frightening the boys enough in order to rebel against Ralph and kill the beast themselves without Ralph ordering them around. This eventually leads to chaos and brutal murders with one another. Ralph tries to keep it under control but eventually loses hope in ever getting rescued.

In my opinion, the plot for this book was really great and so climatic. Out of all the characters in the story, my favorite was Jack. His development throughout the book was the most drastic out of all the characters. And I really liked that about his characters. It made the book more interesting to read. The words used in this book were quite strange and hard to read but it was published in the 1950s. Overall, I think this book is great for anyone interested survival and adventure stories.

My New Puppy!

So recently I have gotten a new puppy, who I have name Jane. She is a three month old pit bull. She is absolutely wonderful and sweet little puppy. She is a joy I have in my life right now. Having her around brings nostalgic feelings about my Yorkshire puppy I had when I was 8 years old. Taking care of Jane has been pretty easy so far. She has grown bigger since we brought her home and she'll grow much bigger as time passes. She is very energetic when playing, she especially bites when she plays. And I have a few bites marks to prove it. Having her in my life makes me more relaxed and eases my stress. I hope she'll stick around much longer than my Yorkshire.

Imaginary Girls: Book Blog

In Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma, the story is told by the perspective of a 14-year old girl named Chloe. Her sister, Ruby, is the most popular girl in town. She's the type of person someone can look up to, she's also very outgoing. So, one night during a party near a lake, Chloe finds the dead body of her classmate floating in the water. After that, Chloe is sent away to live with her father. After two years, she finally comes back to live with Ruby. But things have mysteriously changed in the town and to her sister. Soon, Chloe finds out that her sister has a dark secret, a mysterious power she had never told her. Chloe then starts to ask her sister about it but Ruby refuses to tell as she doesn't want her sister to get hurt by it.

I guess I sort of liked this book and it's really great and everything. The plot was really good and I liked how they sort of twisted things around to make it more interesting and mysterious. I wouldn't say this is my favorite book of all time, but I'm pretty sure it could be someone else's favorite. I would recommend it, especially if you like mysteries and thrillers.

Death & Dying Book Post

This book shows different view points on the subject of death. It gives many reasons, for example how death is a right based on the constitution. This book didn't give a lot of data, based on their different view points. But they made good reasons like, the constitution protects the right to die and the constitution does not protect to right to die. How to help people grieve after a love one has passed.

This book had great information about the subject of death. This book would be great if you were doing an essay or argumentative essay. This book does show both sides of one claim, and plenty of information on each side too. This book did show different claims about the subject that I only knew a little bit. But I felt like the book could have used data of some sort.

Disappearance, a Premonitions Mystery

First, I'll summarize a bit about what happens in the book. The main protagonist of this story is a teenage girl by the name of Gracie. And she has the special gift of getting visions from the past, present, and future. And because of this, she is able to get a vision of a recent murder that happened in her town. But what's suspicious about this is that her long lost father so happens to show up unexpectedly. Now she has to prove to everyone that her father is innocent of the murder by solving the murder herself with the help of her visions.

I'll admit this book was quite hard to understand because this book is a sequel and they do mention events from the first book. But the book was quite quick to read and was really difficult to figure out who committed the murder. I really love mysteries and this is the reason why I decided to read this book. But it's kinda hard for me to find good mysteries with a good plot. Most stories are cliche when the genre is mystery. But overall, this is really a good book and I'd recommend it if you like mysteries, but first read the first book, then this book.

Regret

I remember one time I felt regret was when I had to give away my dog away when I was younger. I didn't really have much of a say during it. I wasn't even there when it happened. But I wished I could have said something during it. Perhaps my dog would have stayed longer if I did say something. I don't feel sad because of it. But maybe back then I was really upset but I can't be sure. I really wish I could change that because that's the one thing I really regret.

Propaganda

The writing in this poster translates to say, "Satan has taken off his mask." In the picture, it shows 'Satan' with a Star of David on its forehead, taking off what it happens to be a person's face. A mask to be more specific. Now what this poster is trying to say is that the Jewish people were considered to be 'the devil' in the form of a person.  I think this poster mostly targeted the Germans to convince them that the Jewish people were 'evil'. The message it's trying to send is very clearly expressed through the art of this poster.

Spending A Day With A Famous Person

A famous person I would like to spend the day with would be Tim Burton. The reason why I would like to spend the day with him is because I really like his work. His drawings and poems, which I can relate because I write my own poems too. He is my idol. A few things we might do together might be writing poems and perhaps I might ask him to give me a few tips on his drawing skills.

Happiness

To me, happiness is being around others who can make me or I can make them laugh. To watch my favorite shows with a smile. Or to sit down comfortably while reading a good book. Or me, spending the night with my family. Every night I would hold one of my birds in my hand while they chirp. It would always make me smile no matter what. But usually I would find happiness by being alone because I can remember all the good thoughts which would usually make me smile.

Super Bowl Commercial

The Super Bowl commercial I found most interesting was the Honda CR-V. The reason why I found this most interesting was how it wanted to send a message about accomplishing our dreams, or chasing our dreams. And in the video they showed different celebrities, each saying a inspirational message of their own.

What I learned from an argument

Well I do remember this argument I had with someone a long while back. We were trying trying to solve a problem that had unexpectedly came our way. We both tried to figure out a way to solve our problem and that led to our argument. I focused on the problem only, trying to figure out one solution to our problem. While the other person tried to figure out many other solutions to our problem without focusing on one solution only. We did ended up find the solution to our little problem but what the other person said really did make me think differently now. If we focus on the problem itself, we might miss the easy solution.

Advice

The best advice I ever been given was when I was a little child. I was told that pain doesn't really hurt, just as long as you're in one piece. Now that really made me think on that. Physical pain does hurt a bit, but we sometimes overreact about it. Like for example, we might slam an object on our fingers. Sure, it hurts, but are fingers are still there. They didn't snap off our hand, you didn't lose your fingers at all. You're still in one piece, no missing limbs, no nothing. Whenever I'm in pain, I tell myself this. And then I suddenly forget about the pain because if we're still focused on the pain, we'll never realize that it doesn't really hurt as much as losing a physical part of yourself.

Name meaning

Well....my last name has no meaning....it doesn't. Neither does my middle name. The only thing I could find about my last name is that most people who have my last name came from Mexico. But that would make sense because my family is from Mexico. Well...I do have my mothers last name. Which infact does have a meaning in Spanish. Which is derived from the given name Floro, Spanish form of the roman Florus, which meant "flower."
